Spruce Design’s collection of pillows is inspired by a combination of organic and graphic motifs. It is a collection that reflects a modern aesthetic and passion for the environment. The pillows are screen printed by hand on organically grown, un-dyed 17 oz hemp with environmentally friendly, non-toxic water based inks. They are printed and sewn in Portland, Oregon within 3 miles of the Spruce Design studio!

Erin Barnes is Spruce Design’s founder and head designer. She was raised in Vermont by a mother who was always sewing and decorating and a father who ran his own architecture firm. Erin’s love of nature began as a child when she would spend her days running around in the woods and playing in the brook behind her house. Erin has a strong commitment to sustainability and has been involved in the environmental movement since becoming a vegetarian at age 13. She earned degrees in both fine art and art history from the University of Vermont and went on to study interior design at California State University in Chico.

After moving to California in 1997, Erin worked in the home textile industry for seven years designing home textiles that were sold in Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy’s, JC Penney and Linens-N-Things. Erin also acted as a consultant for several years to a home textile company, creating their seasonal trend direction.

In 2005, after moving to Portland, Oregon, she began to pursue her passion for interior design and founded Spruce Design, an environmentally conscious interior design company. After several requests from clients for personally designed accessories Erin decided to revisit her love of textile and product design, and Spruce Design’s line of accessories was born.
</body-html>
